Frequently asked questions.
Direct answers about fees, timing, guarantees, supervision, and data.
What does it cost?
A one-time placement fee starting from $3,500, depending on the role, due when you sign the engagement agreement (invoiced at signing). You pay the professional directly. Latium does not bill you hourly.
How fast will I see candidates?
You’ll receive a shortlist of pre-vetted candidates within one week of completing your onboarding paperwork (signed agreement, fee paid, and role details).
Do all candidates have to be bilingual?
No. Bilingual legal talent is our specialty, and many firms come to us for professionals fluent in English and Spanish. But not every role needs two languages. When yours doesn’t, we find strong candidates from a wide talent pool across the U.S. and abroad, and each one is assessed for experience and fit through a personal interview before they reach your shortlist.
How quickly will you respond?
Within 1 business day of your request.
What if the hire doesn’t work out?
Our 90-day guarantee includes one free replacement.
Who employs the professional?
Your firm does. You engage and pay the professional directly. Latium is a placement firm; we don’t employ candidates or resell their hours.
How do we pay the person we hire?
Your firm pays the professional directly. Latium is a direct-hire placement firm, so we charge one placement fee and don’t handle payroll. Common options include:
- U.S.-based hires: a payroll service such as Gusto or ADP, paying by direct deposit or a pay card like Wisely by ADP.
- Professionals abroad: international payment services such as Wise, Remitly, Payoneer, or PayPal, or a global hiring platform such as Deel or Remote that handles contractor or employee payments and compliance. Gusto also pays contractors abroad.
Latium is not affiliated with these providers. Confirm the employee or contractor setup and tax obligations with your accountant.
Will they give legal advice?
No. Placements are supervised, non-lawyer support roles. Your firm remains responsible for supervision under ABA Model Rule 5.3.
Do all candidates have legal experience?
No. Many bring legal education or law-office experience; others bring comparable experience such as client intake, insurance, medical office, or customer service. You choose whether legal experience is required, preferred, or left to our discretion for each role.
What time zones can they cover?
Candidates are mainly in Central and South America. You tell us your time zone and the hours the role must cover, and we match to it.
How should we handle client data?
Please don’t share client information on our forms or before you hire. After hire, the professional works in your systems, under your supervision and your policies.
Do candidates pay Latium?
No. Latium never charges candidates fees.
